WHICH IS THE BEST LINGUISTIC PROGRAM IN VALENCIA? WHY?EXPLAIN ITS FEATURES AND BENEFITS.

PLURILINGUAL PROGRAMS are the best choice for our students . Both PPEV which have the Valencian Language as the vehicular language and PPEC  which have the Spanish as the vehicular language take off from  bilingual programs. They are replacing  PEV and PIB Linguistic Programs.

In my opinion , PPEV is the best  linguistic program in Valencian Community because we are Valencian people and  Valencian Language  is the vehicular language .I belief that we have to promot the Valencian Language in Valencian Community. Valencian is our culture. Moreover,  Valencian Language and Spanish language are  cooficial languages in Valencian Community . So,at the end of the Compulsory Educative Stages , the students will have a balanced competence in the two official languages and in a third language: ENGLISH.

This program starts in Second Stage of  Infant School being exposed to the English Language and having the Valencian as the vehicular language . In Primary and Secondary School they will have to study at least one subject in English Language. Moreover it continues in Bachelor Stage and Job Training Stage. It can be extended to other special disciplines like Arts or Sports(Music  Schools for example).

It have to be active in 2015 in Primary School  and implanted in all educative stages in 2020/2021 following the 127/2012 Decree of 3 August about the Plurilingualism Law.DOCV 6834.

Students will be able to study a fourth language like French, Italian or German if they like.

Families will be asked for the implementation of the multilingual programs depending on the vehicular language that they feel better for their children.

It will respect needs and differences of the students , adapting contents to them in order to enhance the success of the Linguistic Program.

This students develop more facilities to learn a fourth language . Furthermore, they usually are more competent at the University and much better prepared for the future.

Studing though PPEV will make the students proud of being Valencian people , about their culture, language , music and traditions.

Finally, this program will encourage their  responsibility and autonomy , plurilingual competence, multicultural and intercultural work being in the European  framework.

TO TEACH FACTS START WITH FEELINGS.BY HUNTER MATS AND KATIE O'BRIEN.

Teaching through making connections between contents, context and emotions becomes necessary in order to achieve meaningful learning.

We have to be sure that our message arrives to the students acting as a guide and adapting us to their needs.

Therefore, we have to give them opportunities to develop their competences. Many times, songs , poems or films usually help them to have an overview of the life.

Students need to understand and to be understood.Culture, interaction and their background are more paramount than contents. What interest us is the process of cognition.

As we can see when we teach , teenagers need models .So,  I like telling them my own experiences with my achievements and failures. Then, they become aware of the reality and the society , taking advantage of my stories.

To sum up, working emotional intelligence and reinforcing their personality, giving values , scaffolding HOT thinking will be the key to be successful. On the other hand, emotions could be a powerful filter to fall down. So,motivating them  all the time becomes essential.

I remember one student from a special class who after playing "The Flintstones" told me : "Teacher, I know what I am going to do in Christmas Concert : DABADABADUUUU!!!!!! " . I felt proud of him because he wanted to participate in the concert.

TROUGH YOUNG EYES.

I have just read a report in The Guardian of a Children's Commission on Poverty that reveals what they look and feel to stand out from their classrooms even from the society because they are poor.

This situation is focused on : uniforms, meals, materials and school trips. One child say "It depends on what my mum situation is.If I don't have the money I normally just wait until I get home to eat".

All this promote social differences , cause bulling and other bad behaviours between students that teachers must avoid . We have to prevent our students from these harmful situations.

How? Working through attitudes, values and understanding the difference like a positive thing.

In fact, many successful people (writers, musicians,scientists...)come from poor families or from a delicated background.

USING NEW TECHNOLOGIES IN MUSICAL EDUCATION

Using ICT is not a choice. It is a necessity. Nowadays, most of performances are about a mix between music, projections of images and dance.Spectators like it, so , we have to learn the best way to teach our subject through new nechnologies.

Moreover, musical instruments are getting developed to produce new sounds , electic sounds and effects. Digital Age is here and it is good for scaffolding HOT skills.

In fact, sound recordings are made by sound technicians who review the work .They usually add or take out elements to achieve better outcomes .

Furthermore, working through technology make my subject more interesting, useful and in context with the reality of my students who are all the day surrounded by computers , tablets , on-line games ....

On the other hand,  teaching music is about interacting with other musicians , sharing information ... If you can be a member of a Professional Orchestra your work will depend on your performance on the stage. Here we are talking about the "Human Factor".
Nowadays, you can learn to play an instrument alone being a self-taught musician but it will not be the same. Personally , I know many self-taught musicians who recognize have taken music lessons from a professional musician.

In my opinión, a mix between new technologies and human interaction  will be the key to be successful.

My best teacher

My best teacher has been my first teacher of music named Ángel García.What I liked the most about him was that wheather or not he had a good time he always encouraged me and made me feel motivated with the Music . Moreover , he  was sensitive , sociable, an open minded person and he had a good sense of the rhythm .

He was a musician and an  artist . So, he had a special golden soul , he loved what he did . We as children as we were knew it.

I started studying music when I was six years old and I knew that he would be a great musician and an important person in my life .He taught me some important things about the music :the  music could be my life , my hobby , my profession....or all these things together!

In addition , the taught me the meaning of the music : creativity, sensitivity , passion , cooperative work ,discipline,  international language ,working trough projects ....

While i was in music class i had to learn how to read a score, how to follow a melody or a rhythm , how to improve psychomotor abilities . It was not easy but I didn't mind because I liked it .

Nowadays , he is one of the members of  the   well-known percussion group "Amores"around the world thanks to their style making fussion rthythms and experiencing with daily objects.

Twenty years after , we are bandmates in the Symphonic Band of Catarroja "La Artesana". I feel proud of being an active member in this group.
